Common Dental Emergencies We Handle
Here are some dental emergencies we’re prepared to help our patients with, along with what you can do until you can see Dr. C.
- Toothaches or Abscessed Teeth — A constant and severe toothache needs immediate attention because your tooth is likely infected. Don’t wait to seek treatment, thinking it will get better on its own. An untreated tooth infection can lead to further damage and discomfort.
- Lost or Broken Restorations — If you lose or break a dental filling or crown, it may or may not cause discomfort. Whether or not it’s uncomfortable, you should still contact your dentist for repair to avoid further damage to your tooth.
- Knocked-Out Teeth — We need to treat a dislodged tooth as soon as possible to have the best chance of saving it. Transport the tooth carefully using milk or saliva to keep it moist, or place it back in its socket if you can.
- Broken or Chipped Teeth — A broken tooth can cause discomfort, while a chipped one may not need immediate attention. Our team will assess your situation over the phone to determine your treatment needs.
